Apple is blaming a software bug tied to popular apps for causing its recently released iPhone 15 to overheat.
The company says it is developing a software update to prevent devices from becoming uncomfortably hot in user’s hands.
Instagram, owned by Meta, modified its social media app earlier this week to prevent the device from heating up on the latest iPhone operating system.
Uber and other apps are working with Apple to rectify the problem by rolling out their own updates until Apple develops a software update that fixes the issue.
The new iPhone 15 was announced alongside two new Apple Watches at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
