DIY macro rail for shooting photos to be combined with focus stacking software. This is the hand-crank manual version of the rail. Eventually, it will be converted to an automated rail with a stepper motor and Arduino Uno.
The box is cherry, wheel is cocobolo, crank handle is tulip wood. Tube rails, threaded rod, and some nuts are stainless steel. Other hardware is brass. The camera block glides on PTFE sleeve bearings. Nylon washers are used on the threaded rod which rides in brass bushings. No lubrication is used (as you can hear).
