A 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy are would-be bullfighters as they participate in the disturbing deaths and torture of young animals, as documented in a new video released by Animal Guardians and La Tortura No Es Cultura.

Despite the United Nation’s CRC recommendations governing the rights of children, and specifically urging Spain to prohibit children and adolescents from attending bullfighting events, minors are still present in bullfighting arenas and schools, and even participate in the slow and fatal blood-letting of young hapless animals.

The agonizing cries of the tortured animals are buried under the exclamations of children who witness the bloody scene.
• This particular “calf-fight,” held on August 22, was carried out with the collaboration of the City Council of Esquivias “as a Tribute to the women of the town” and in collaboration with the Regional Government of Castilla La Mancha, both of which promote bullfighting activities.

This footage was made within the scope of our www.bastabecerradas.es/en (enough calf-fights) with which we intend to ban bullfights made with bovines below 2 years of age, and eventually all bullfighting.

If you wish to collaborate with Animal Guardians so that we can continue covering and fighting these events, please write to infoanimalguardians@gmail.com

Thank you
