are implicated in numerous pathologies and have been detected both in plasma
and serum, thus showing promise as diagnostic biomarkers. QIAGEN products
offer the opportunity to tackle this interesting research field with a true
Sample to Insight approach. We provide
specialized library preparation kits that can be used with different miRNA
species. For miRNA data analysis, we offer CLC Genomics Workbench, which
leverages innovative bioinformatics methods and is compatible with our
Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) software. Together, our bioinformatics
solutions help us to further understand the biological processes subjected to
a particular differentially expressed miRNA profile.

In this webinar, we will illustrate the functionalities of a newly-released
miRNA analysis tool within the CLC Genomics Workbench, which is capable of
exploiting information obtained from unique molecular indices (UMIs) and
based on sequence mapping directly to miRbase. UMIs reduce amplification
biases and sequencing errors, which are key factors affecting the accuracy of
short sequence mapping and quantification. We will show the powerful analysis
features of the software, demonstrate how easily they can be streamed to IPA
and how the microRNA Target Filter of IPA can help in the interpretation of
results within a larger biological context.

We will present the results of the analysis carried on a published dataset
of adrenal myelolipoma samples and illustrate novel insights generated using our methods, such as the
detection of a new miRNA which is a potentially good candidate for biomarker
analysis. The IPA analysis will then show and explore the different networks
of miRNA-mRNA obtained in the context of cancer settings and without matching
mRNA datasets
