Rotator Cuff Injuries are associated with the muscles of the rotator cuff and its tendons through which shoulder joint is kept in place. Prime emphasis of this V-Learning™ is on shoulder impingement syndrome, supraspinatus tendinitis, and cuff disruption. Alongside, detailed explanation is given on variety of tests for cuff impingement pain and tests for isolated weakness. Likewise, light is shed on acute calcific tendinitis and chronic calcification.

One of the most common Shoulder Injuries discussed initially is known as rotator cuff syndrome. Then intrinsic factors of impingement syndrome occurring around the Joints of Shoulder Region are highlighted which include degeneration of the tendon, changes in the collagen composition, and changes in presence of sulphated glycosaminoglycans. Following this, acromion is classified into 3 types according to Bigliani and Morrison Classification. Furthermore, discussion continues on subacute tendinitis, chronic tendinitis, and cuff disruption which are the clinical feature of shoulder impingement syndrome.

After that, comprehensive information is delivered about tests for cuff impingement pain including the painful arc, Neer’s test, Hawkins–Kennedy test, and Jobe’s test. Tests for isolated weakness are also elaborated. Lag sign and drop sign is observed in infraspinatus and posterior cuff. Next on, the Lift-off test is elaborated through pictorial representation that when it is normal and when it is positive.

Coming towards the treatment, beside conservative treatment, information about surgical treatment is also delivered which include the explanation of open acromioplasty, arthroscopic acromioplasty, and open as well as arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Moreover, clinical features of acute calcific tendinitis include night pain, lesser movement and resembles infection or gout. Conclusively, chronic calcification is reported.
